THE FUTURE OF SELF-SERVICE BANKING
by horacioduek - 24.09.2010 / Design • Usability
ATMs were first introduced over 40 years ago and since then many features have been incrementally added to the machines, in order to fulfill the dream of a truly “automated teller”. Modern ATMs offer a wide range of banking transactions; nevertheless the actual interaction has remained largely untouched. In early 2007 the Spanish bank BBVA asked IDEO to re-think their self-service channel from scratch. The question was not how to further automate the teller, but rather how to humanize the machine. Have a look at the video to learn about the unique features of the envisioned self-service experience.
WHY WE USE WORDPRESS AS A CMS
by horacioduek - 17.08.2010 / Design • Usability • Web
There are so many open-source content management systems (CMS) nowadays that our clients are usually faced with a problem when deciding the CMS platform for their new web site. In the past, choosing the “right” CMS was a matter of the client and project’s requirements, but now this is not completely valid since the paradigm of extensibility had driven the development of major CMS’ towards a model of core features that are extensible with extensions or plug-ins that fill virtually any requirement.

by horacioduek - 23.06.2010 / Design • Usability

The iPad is not available in Argentina yet, let alone in Mendoza. But we are slowly seeing more and more iPads in Mendoza’s cafes and restaurants. I bought my iPad the day Apple released it in the U.S, April 3th. I had pre-ordered it about a month prior and got it in the flagship Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. I’ve been using my iPad for a couple of months now and I must say that this is simply the greatest piece of technology ever designed for consumers.
